The "Historic" Frederick. Hotel was built in 1913, in the Commercial style by Mrs Viola Odendahl. Viola had a vision in 1913: A hotel with indoor plumbing, coal fired steam heat and electricity! Over the years, the majority of the hotels owners have been females; strong, visionary, and with keen business sense. The Frederick. has an established reputation as a historic hotel facility with decor and layout that is difficult to find anywhere in the state.

Upstairs there are 10 rooms: six private rooms that have either 3/4 or full private baths, four single/double occupancy rooms with communal accommodations (sharing a central shower/commode), of which two of these rooms can connect to adjoining rooms with private baths.

For those looking for a weekend getaway (camping at Bowman Lake, Middle Loup River, experiencing Sherman Reservoir or, a place to stay for a wedding, a place to sleep after a long day of hunting or fishing, or simply a place to stay when visiting relatives or traveling through the area, the Frederick.
